Fascination Over Frustration

I heard this on a team call a while ago, and it has been something that I need to continually remind myself about whenever the dark cloud of frustration decides to take over. Fascination over frustration.

  • Frustration - Annoyance because of the inability to change something

  • Fascination - A mindset shift from frustration, that happens when we turn around and decide to trust in God, and see the light

When you are in the place of being frustrated with something, remember to be fascinated that you are even in that situation. God will be there for you when you fall, so do not worry about what could or might go wrong.

Almost a year ago, my ex-boyfriend and I broke up. I instantly went to a place of frustration because I had no idea what I was going to do. This was a person that I was thinking I could possibly be spending the rest of my life with, and now that was gone. Every single little or big plan I had in place for my life was now shattered. Little did I know in the moment, but it would be one of the biggest blessings of my life (more to come on that). I should have responded to that situation with fascination, and trust in God because He knows the ultimate plans, and He is in control.

In the passage Matthew 14:28 - 31, the Lord told Peter to get out of the boat. Before that, Jesus told them "Take courage!". Then Peter got out of the boat, saw wind, that scared him because he was afraid of sinking. Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, asking him why he doubted Him.

One of the biggest, and hardest things as Christians is to completely put our trust in God. We tend to become frustrated because things may not be going as we originally had planned or hoped that they would. In those situations, we need to turn from frustration to fascination. God has His own plan for us, and we need to trust in that plan that he has for us. God has our backs at all times, and would not put us through situations that He knows that we can not handle.

When God put me through the situation, He knew that I would be able to handle it, and that it would be something that I could talk about and educate and talk with others about. It has truly been amazing to see the process of seeing what God has in store for me. Never in a million years, did I ever think that I would be starting a blog to share my tips, and stories. Or even building my Instagram in general. This journey has been truly crazy, and the more I turn and look at frustrations as fascination, the more I see the light side of everything.

When I was turning towards frustration, everything was so dark, it made me look at the dark side of everything and everything seemed negative. But when I turned towards fascination, the whole world became light again.

Throughout your whole journey of 'life', I encourage you to turn towards fascination, and never be frustrated. Your world with truly light up when you do. Lastly, I encourage you to take a look at the prompts below, and perhaps they will help you put your trust in God even more than you have in the past.
